老年人电视观看体验的混合智能提升方法

电视连续剧仍然是中国老年人最常见的娱乐活动。尽管过度观看电视可能带来生理与心理风险，但适度观看具有复杂情节、叙事结构和人物关系的电视剧来维持认知能力。然而，由于认知能力下降，许多老年人往往难以欣赏此类复杂的电视作品。本文提出了一种结合先进视频场景分割技术与人类协作的混合智能方法--TV-Hint，以提升认知老化人群的电视观看体验。我们招募了21名60至70岁老年人进行评估实验。结果表明：(1) 该方法帮助他们更好地理解剧情；(2) 增强了他们的观看投入度，从而验证了所提方法的有效性。本文还讨论了未来的研究方向。Abstract
Watching television series remains the most prevalent entertainment activity among old adults in China. Though excessive television viewing may lead to physical and psychological risks, watching TV properly could still bring potential benefits, such as maintaining cognitive ability through watching TV series with complex plots, narratives, and relationships among characters. However, many old adults, due to cognitive decline, often find it difficult to enjoy those complex TV series. In this paper, we proposed TV-Hint, an approach combining state-of-the-art video scene segmentation techniques and human effort to enhance cognitive-aging adults\' TV viewing experience. We evaluated TV-Hint with 21 old adults in their 60s and 70s. The results show that (1) helps them better understand the plots, and (2) makes them more engaged in TV viewing, thus demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.
