移动WiMAX覆盖能力分析

近年来，移动WiMAX受到了产业界和学界的广泛关注，同时也存在一些争议。本文从2.5GHz的移动WiMAX系统出发，利用链路预算的方式，对移动WiMAX的上下行分别进行分析。并根据COST231-Hata模型，对移动WiMAX的覆盖能力做出估计，给出了在大城市、中小城市、郊区和农村的小区覆盖半径。最后与3G技术做了简单的比较，发现移动WiMAX在覆盖能力方面并没有明显的优势。
In recent years, mobile WiMAX has obtained so much attention, meanwhile its performance is still disputable. In this paper, the coverage performance of 2.5GHz mobile WiMAX system is evaluated. Link budget of both downlink and uplink are counted. Then use COST231-Hata model to evaluate the coverage of mobile WiMAX. The coverage performance in big city, urban, suburban and rural is listed. At the end, a simple compare between 3G and mobile WiMAX is given. The result indicates that mobile WiMAX does not have distinct advantage.
