Beer is one of the most widely consumed alcoholic beverages worldwide. However, brewing generates significant waste annually, leading to environmental pollution and loss of nutrient-rich raw materials. As the industry faces increasing pressure for green, circular, and low-carbon practices, traditional waste treatment methods, such as drying for use as organic fertilizer, no longer meet sustainable development demaResearch Progress on the Extraction Technologies and Applications of Phenolic Compounds from Beer Spent Grainnds. The challenge now lies in efficiently recycling beer brewing by-products, converting them into functional ingredients or products to establish a sustainable production chain. Among these by-products, brewer\'s spent grain (BSG), rich in cellulose, hemicellulose, proteins, and phenolic compounds, has attracted considerable research attention. Researchers are exploring the potential of BSG for waste reutilization. This review covers extraction and purification techniques for phenolic compounds in BSG, evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of various methods, and highlights potential applications of BSG bioactive components in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries.
