ITS2 Pretrial Gene Identification Related to Seed and Flower Identification for Cyclea barbata
Abstract Plant samples, Cylcea sp., were collected from many part of Thailand. The partial gene of rbcL and ITS2 were used as DNA barcode to distinguish Cyclea polypetala and Cyclea barbata. The pretrial sequences were blasted to gene bank DNA database and related species was identified. The flowers and seeds from collected Cylcea sp. were compared to references from other reports. The ITS2 pretrial sequences indicated that plant sample was Cyclea barbata and similar to identification by flower and seed morphology. The ITS2 pretrial gene was small DNA fragment about 300-400 bp but it cloud identified plant species, therefore it was rapidly sequence and reduced cost and time for Cyclea barbata identification with DNA barcode.
