his article discusses the properties, classifications, and applications of microwave absorption (MA) in the military, electronics, medical, and communications fields. Absorbers have the characteristics of light weight, high temperature resistance, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., which can effectively reduce electromagnetic wave energy, improve equipment stealth, electronic equipment performance and medical diagnosis accuracy. The advantages and disadvantages of various types of absorbers are analyzed in detail, among which ceramic absorbers have become a research hotspot due to their good thermal and chemical stability. Ceramic-based MA composites are composed of absorbers and ceramic substrates, and their composition and structure can be reasonably designed to improve the absorbing properties and maintain the strength and wear resistance of the material. Ceramic-based absorbers for carbide, nitride, and oxide have excellent absorption, mechanical properties, and high temperature resistance, and are expected to maintain stable absorption in harsh environments. In the future, we will deeply explore the preparation process and performance optimization methods of new absorbers, and contribute to scientific and technological progress and social development.
