Numerical Simulation Study on the Distribution Characteristics of the Present Tectonic Stress Field in the Chepaizi Uplift of Chunfeng Oilfield and Its Coupling Relationship with Oil and Gas Distribution

IUsing finite element techniques, we conducted numerical simulations to analyze the current stress field characteristics of the Chunfeng Oilfield in the eastern part of the Chepaizi uplift. The model construction was closely based on high-precision 3D seismic data of the Chepaizi uplift, including detailed descriptions of three key sequence bases and fault orientations. Based on the simulation results, we conducted a comparative analysis with the known hydrocarbon reservoir distributions and fault trends, quantitatively assessed the distribution characteristics of the first principal stress, third principal stress, stress intensity, and principal stress directions in the Chepaizi uplift, and delved into the primary factors influencing the structural features of the Chepaizi uplift. By setting the boundary conditions of the model, we found that under the stress in the north-west-by-west direction, the north-north-east and near-east-west faults in the study area significantly constrain the shape of the stress field. The low-stress-intensity areas are approximately distributed in a north-north-east direction, which highly aligns with the distribution locations of proven hydrocarbon reservoirs in the Chepaizi uplift. This not only enhances our understanding of the structural stress field characteristics of the Chepaizi uplift but also provides an important theoretical basis for further exploring the hydrocarbon accumulation mechanisms and development potential in this area.
