he paper describes soil column, rainfall device,monitoring system and sampling methods for tests of rainfall infiltration. It introduces self-designed soil column tests for rainfall infiltration of unsaturated soil .The research can measure the change of volume water content in the soil column. It provides new approach for researches on rainfall infiltration mechanism of unsaturated soil. The research elucidates the change law of volume water content in the soil column by self-designed soil column tests. It also conducts numerical simulation for the laboratory test by GeoStudio software. Results of the laboratory test and the numerical simulation are almost the same. It validates reliability and accuracy of laboratory tests.
