由“福娃事件”谈“和谐文化”建设

his study reviews the evolution process of \\\"Fuwa Incident\\\" and analyzes the rationality of the latter name. What was inconsistent with the facts has been pointed out from the media in order to clear up misunderstandings. \\\"Culture Self-confidence\\\" has been studied by analysis of cultural psychology and cultural root of the Incident has been studied by analysis of aesthetics and linguistics. The analysis tools of cultural psychology, aesthetics and linguistics have been used in the studies of “cultural self-confidence” and the cultural root of the incident. The essential reason was that “Friendlies” had great deficiencies in connotation to be a name of mascots while the external reason was that the public participation in the original entitling process did not arrive at a high level. In view of the historical meaning of the incident, the suggestion was that China should still insist on the strategy--mutual respect and seeking common ground while shelving differences. In addition, the Beijing Olympics should try to construct a harmonious culture and aim at Harmonious Olympics.
