he ferrochelatase encoded by the FECH gene is involved in heme synthesis, and mutations in this gene are associated with erythropoietic protoporphyria, in which hypochromic microcytic anemia is observed in some patients. RBM38, an RNA-binding protein, is implicated in the late differentiation stages of immature erythrocytes. It was previously demonstrated by the research group that the alternative splicing of heme synthesis-related genes, such as ALAS2 and Fech, is regulated by Rbm38, thereby modulating erythrocyte porphyrin metabolism. In this study, dual-luciferase plasmids containing genomic fragments corresponding to the binding sites of Rbm38 and Fech were constructed, providing a molecular basis for subsequent exploration of the influence of Rbm38 on the stability of Fech mRNA.
