Investigations of Preformation Factors on the α Decay Half-lives
In this study, various preformation factors obtained in different studies are examined within the framework of Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) method. The most suitable preformation factors and parameters are determined based on nuclei with available alpha decay experimental data, according to the present model. The final optimal model is applied to heavy and superheavy nuclei whose alpha decay half-lives remain unknown. The good agreement between the obtained results and the experimental data may provide valuable information for the nuclei with predicted alpha decay lifetimes and could be helpful for future research.
