Research on the Impact and Determinants of Peer Effects in Driving Enterprise Digital Transformation
探究同群效应如何协同企业数字化转型发力，对于破解当前发展障碍、激活行业和区域整体的数字化活力至关重要。本文基于2010-2024年中国沪深A股上市公司数据，实证检验了同群效应驱动企业数字化转型的效果与影响因素。研究发现，企业数字化转型存在显著的行业及区域同群效应，焦点企业上期数字化转型水平与同群企业差距越大，数字化转型积极性越高；同时，焦点企业上期绩效低于同群企业越多，数字化转型倾向越强；此外，随着企业绩效差值变化，转型距离对数字化转型积极性的影响存在门槛效应；最后，进一步分析还发现，同群效应具有乘数特性，且数字化转型行业同群效应能显著提升企业绩效。研究结论有助于深化企业数字化转型的机制与路径认识，可为行业和区域数字经济发展提供理论和经验支持。

Understanding the synergy between peer effects and digital transformation is essential for overcoming current development bottlenecks and stimulating the overall digital vitality across industries and regions. Utilizing data from Chinese A-share listed companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2010 to 2024, this study empirically investigates the impact of peer effects on corporate digital transformation and its underlying influencing factors. The findings reveal significant industry and regional peer effects in corporate digital transformation. A greater distance between a focal firm\'s prior digital transformation level and that of its peers is associated with a higher level of enthusiasm for such transformation. Similarly, the more a focal firm\'s prior performance falls below that of its peers, the stronger its impetus for digital transformation becomes. Furthermore, the influence of the transformation distance on digital transformation enthusiasm exhibits a threshold effect, which varies with the performance gap. Finally, further analysis indicates that peer effects exert a multiplier effect, and that industry-level peer effects in digital transformation significantly enhance firm performance. These conclusions contribute to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms and pathways of corporate digital transformation and offer both theoretical and empirical support for fostering digital economic development across industries and regions.
