1. This paper provides a mathematically rigorous proof that to eliminate out-of-distribution generalization (OOD) hallucinations, the number of AI parameters must be strictly equal to the number of nonlinear basis functions in the Galerkin projection onto the training set, i.e., strictly adhering to the equation N_AI = dim(V_h) = N_basis (where V_h denotes the subspace spanned by the Galerkin projection of the training set, and N_basis is the number of nonlinear basis functions within this subspace). For ease of exposition, this fundamental law is named the "Degrees of Freedom Isomorphism Equation."
2. This paper mathematically rigorously proves that a non-trivial null space dimension greater than zero—i.e., dim(Null Space) > 0—is both necessary and sufficient for AI to generate hallucinations during out-of-distribution generalization (OOD).
3. From this derivation, it follows that AI hallucinations are not conventional "optimization bugs," but rather intrinsic "topological structural defects." Therefore, engineering approaches such as increasing model capacity or data cleaning cannot fundamentally eliminate hallucinations.
4. Given that traditional machine learning methods are highly prone to OOD generalization catastrophes when approximating nonlinear integral operators, this study's empirical validation is conducted on three classical nonlinear physical manifolds: Gaussian bell curves, Taylor-Green vortices, and Q4 bilinear shape functions. Experimental results demonstrate that AI models constructed based on the "Degrees of Freedom Isomorphism Equation" (with parameter count O(1)) achieve an OOD generalization mean squared error (MSE loss) as low as O(10^-32)—reaching the precision limit of FP64 double-precision floating-point arithmetic—using only a single training sample and basic Adam optimization. In contrast, conventional multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) with O(10^5) parameters fail catastrophically under identical testing conditions, exhibiting divergent test errors ranging from O(10^+1) to O(10^-3), thereby confirming the correctness of our theoretical proof.
5. Based on these rigorous proofs and empirical validations, this paper introduces a novel PDE operator architecture—characterized by absolute zero hallucination, high accuracy, and extreme simplicity in training—under the name Pure Science AI.
