How Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowers user information behavior research is a core issue that urgently needs clarification in the field of information behavior. This study aims to clarify the empowerment logic of AI for user information behavior research and provide an analytical framework and methodological guidance for the further development of this field. Firstly, the concept of AI is deconstructed from the technical and application levels to define its connotation and scope in this study. Secondly, the technical empowerment paths and mechanisms of AI are systematically analyzed from three dimensions: research subject, research content, and research methods. Finally, following the progressive logic of "core components - operating mechanisms - constraints," an analytical framework for AI-empowered user information behavior research is constructed, and the dynamic process and related outcomes of empowerment are revealed from three aspects: empowerment dimensions, dimension interactions, boundaries, and ethical risks.
