This paper introduces the concept of "Tracing Melodic Traces" (痕迹旋律), defining it as iconic melodic fragments that have sedimented through long-term social dissemination, possess high recognizability and emotional attachment, and can continuously activate collective memory across generations. The article systematically elucidates the multi-dimensional mechanism of Tracing Melodic Traces from the dimensions of cultural memory, auditory aesthetics, creative intertextuality, social emotion, and intergenerational communication, revealing the semantic drift patterns in media transformation and social transition. It constructs a three-layer variation model of "acoustic layer—semantic layer—event layer" to explain the intergenerational rebirth and emotional awakening mechanism of classic melodies. The study finds that Tracing Melodic Traces is not static cultural heritage but a constantly reconstructed "active residue," whose emotional awakening intensity is positively correlated with the degree of temporal rupture, increasingly manifesting its social function as "emotional anchors" in the fragmented digital era. The paper also clarifies the copyright boundaries in Tracing Melodic Traces research and practice in accordance with the Copyright Law and academic communication norms, providing theoretical reference and practical guidance for music cultural research, music creation, music dissemination, and music education reform.
