Psychological resilience from a complex dynamic systems perspective: Approaches and applications of psychopathological symptom networks

摘要

心理韧性作为个体维持心理健康的重要能力,其概念界定与操作化长期面临挑战。借鉴复杂动力系统理论,可将其界定为:在影响因素系统驱动下,心理健康状态系统表现出的稳定性与健康趋向性。网络分析是表征上述构想的有力工具。当前研究多将心理健康状态系统聚焦于心理病理症状,以症状网络的自发激活倾向对应健康趋向性、边权重对应稳定性,形成“症状网络韧性”范式,依据中心性假说识别决定症状网络韧性的关键心理健康状态指标,进一步将心理韧性的影响因素纳入症状网络,考察心理韧性和影响因素的循环互动。然而,目前该领域仍处于起步阶段,在理论构想的量化准确性、范式效度验证及个体化应用等方面存在局限,这为后续研究指明了方向。

Abstract

Psychological resilience, as a crucial capacity for maintaining mental health, has long faced challenges in its conceptual definition and operationalization. Drawing on complex dynamic systems theory, psychological resilience can be defined as the stability and tendency toward health exhibited by the mental health state system under the drive of an influencing factors system. Network analysis is a powerful tool for characterizing this framework. Current research often focuses the mental health state system on psychopathological symptoms, mapping the spontaneous activation tendency (threshold) of symptom networks onto health tendency and edge weights onto stability, thereby forming a "symptom network resilience" paradigm. Based on the centrality hypothesis in network analysis, key mental health state indicators that determine symptom network resilience can be identified. Influencing factors of psychological resilience can also be incorporated into the psychopathological symptom network to examine their circular interactions. However, this field is still in its initial stage, with limitations in the quantitative accuracy of theoretical constructs, the verification of paradigm validity, and individualized applicationsyet these limitations also point the way for future research.
