Abstract
This article focuses on the research of the abnormal phenomenon where the pH value of the glass electrode pH meter is greater than 14 in the experiment. By preparing sample solutions containing iron standard solutions, hydroxylamine hydrochloride, etc., the absorbance at 510 nm was measured to be 0.067, while a certain pH meter showed that the pH remained consistently above 14, even exceeding 15. After retesting with other instruments of the same model, the result was 13.15. Based on the measurement principle of glass electrodes, the abnormal data was analyzed and it was believed that it might be an occasional measurement anomaly. Further verification of its cause is still needed.
