While empowering public libraries in ancient book digitization, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) also introduces credibility risks such as data distortion, model 'hallucination', and ambiguous accountability, necessitating systematic credibility governance. This study first analyzes the credibility risks arising from the GenAI-enabled ancient book digitization process and constructs a credibility assessment framework tailored to the characteristics of ancient books, covering the foundational layer, content layer, knowledge layer, and service layer. Subsequently, based on this framework, a credibility assessment indicator system for GenAI-enabled ancient book digitization containing 13 evaluation indicators is established to achieve structured and actionable credibility assessment of generated content. Finally, credibility governance strategies are proposed in three aspects: establishing a tiered response mechanism, strengthening institutional safeguards for resource classification management and accountability coordination, and constructing a long-term mechanism for credibility governance. This forms a complete closed loop of 'credibility risk analysis—credibility assessment—credibility governance,' aiming to provide theoretical and practical references for the compliant and high-quality application of GenAI in the ancient book digitization process.
