Porter’s influential ‘diamond framework’ of national competitiveness published in The Competitive Advantage of Nations has stimulated extensive application in China.Moreover, our most researchers of the industrial clusters have applied it mechanically and been lack of overall summary to Porter’s diamond framework and analytical method. Therefore, the paper firstly carried on the summary to foreign schorlars’ criticism and discussion about Porter’s diamond framework, and connected to the situation of our country and the industrical clusters’ development, suggested that two essential factors (the regional culture and external investment) would be brought into the diamond framework.Accordingly, the paper put forward hypothetic diamond framework of industrial clusters’ competitiveness,and pointed out the two factors of the government and external investment should be orientated to its role in the demonstration. After this, the paper has given comprehensive summary to the systemic analytical method of Porter’s diamond framework, and offered a supplementary proposal for the diamond’s analytical method that based on the industrical clusters’ life cycle. Finally, the paper has constructed the diamond’s systemic analytical method on the regional industrical clusters’ competitiveness.
