“大学课程在线”是基于中国教育网上开发的分布式视频资源共享和服务系统。通过把分布在不同大学的课件资源有效地聚合起来，实现网上教育资源的广泛共享，为网上用户提供方便、灵活、安全的跨地域、跨管理域的资源共享和发布平台。本文详细介绍了“大学课程在线”系统的体系结构、运行模式及其服务机制。同时也介绍了该系统的独特性能，1.构建一个由分布在广域网上的多台服务器组成的存储平台； 2.为用户选择一个“当前”最优的服务器服务。
Realcourse is a video stream service supported by a collection of physical servers distributed all over China. This article provides a comprehensive description on the model, architecture, and operation mechanism behind realcourse. In particular, the highly-availability feature and dynamic re-configurability is emphasized.
