本文以G.711和G.729两种语音编码方式研究了802.11bDCF协议下能够承载的VoIP的语音容量,即在WLAN中能够传输的最大语音话路。通过对影响容量的因素分析,包括语音编码方式和MAC成帧速率等因素提出改进方案:采用2个语音包的汇聚算法,并减小AP的CWmax值,使得G.711语音编码支持的话路由11路增加到15路而G.729语音编码支持的话路由12路增加到19路。

In this paper, we study the VoIP capacity of IEEE 802.11b (DCF), i.e., the maximum number of simultaneous voice calls that can take place in a WLAN cell in two codecs, namely G.711 and G.729. This capacity is related to the speech coding schemes, the MAC framing rate,the distance from the accesss point(AP) to users, etc.The WLAN voice capacity can be improved by merging two voice packet and reducing the AP's CWmax.The results show that G.711 allows 11simultaneous calls up to 15 and G.729 increases to19 from 12 by improved algorithm.
