Vasa gene is a DEAD-box family of important members, it is a coding of a class of ATP-dependent RNA helicase. Many study showed that vasa gene is specifically expressed in the germ cell lines, it is very important to gametogenesis in many plants and animals. In this paper, studies have found, vasa genes showed highly similarity and strong homology between red crucian carp and common carp. In addition, fluorescence quantitative PCR results showed that in the testis and ovarian tissue in two vasa gene expression, except other tissue of red crucian carp, suggesting that Vasa gene specifically expressed in germ cell, and plays an important role in development of germ.
