What is the impact of aging on social income equity? Based on the measurement of inter-city Theil index and the spatial econometric model, this paper examines the impact of aging on regional income disparity theoretically and empirically. The results show that: At present, the regional income gap in China is on the decline as a whole, aging is conducive to narrowing the regional income gap; Considering different channel variables, aging has an impact on income disparity by promoting the optimization and upgrading of consumption structure and urbanization, moreover, the impact of urbanization is greater than that of consumption structure. Divide the whole country into eastern, central and Western Regions, it is found that there is still a certain gap between regions in China, especially the rise of the central region needs to be strengthened. Considering the impact of aging on regional income gap in different time periods, it is found that compared with 2009-2015, the effect of aging on income gap is significant in 2001-2008.
