compact and tunable photonic crystal switch based on defect resonance
采用平面波展开法(PWM)和时域有限差分(FDTD)法,研究光在含点缺陷的光子晶体波导中的传输特性。计算结果表明,在光子晶体波导附近引入点缺陷可以阻断一定频率范围的光,使之不能透过波导,进一步研究表明:利用点缺陷处折射率的改变可实现其阻断频率范围的移动,从而在理论上可实现一种可调的光开关。
he transmission characteristics of a 2D photonic crystal waveguide with point defects are investigated by the Plane Wave Expansion Method (PWM) and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Method. It is found that by introducing two point defects in the photonic crystal waveguide light wave of specific frequency can be shut off and is prohibited from traveling out. And we also find that the cut-off frequency changes with the variation of the refractive index of point defects, which may be used to design a tunable optical switch theoretically.
