Stimuli-responsive morphology transformation and cytotoxicity of self-assembled micro/nano-materials
由外界条件刺激引发的刺激响应性自组装,能够调节材料的形状和/或宏观性质,近年来引起研究者的广泛兴趣。多种刺激响应性(如pH、酶、光等)被用来控制自组装过程,制备智能材料。刺激响应性自组装微/纳材料其在药物传递、生物成像等领域的应用已成为研究热点。自组装微/纳材料的形貌对其性质和功能起着重要作用,研究环境刺激调控微/纳材料形貌转变,有利于促进对可控自组装、生命过程模拟等领域的研究。刺激响应性微/纳材料在细胞内发挥作用时,化学结构、形状等物化性质会发生改变,可能引起细胞毒性或影响细胞功能。因此,研究细胞内刺激响应性微/纳材料的细胞毒性具有重要意义,这对诊疗材料体系的构建也具有指导意义。本综述总结了刺激响应性自组装微/纳材料的刺激响应性形貌演化及细胞毒性研究进展,并对其未来的发展方向和应用进行了展望。
Stimuli-responsive self-assembly triggered by external stimuli has attracted tremendous interest in recent years, which can modulate the shape and/or other macroscopic properties. Various stimuli (i.e. pH, enzyme and light) are utilized to control the self-assembly process and prepare smart materials. The applications of stimuli-responsive micro/nano-materials in areas such as drug delivery and bio-imaging have become a research focus. The morphology of self-assembled micro/nano-materials plays an important role in their properties and functions. So the research of stimuli-responsive morphology transformation of micro/nano-materials can promote the insights into controlled self-assembly and simulation of biological self-assembly. When performing functions in living cells, the micro/nano-materials usually change their physiochemical properties such as shape and volume, which may cause cytotoxicity and influence on cell functions. Therefore, it is essential to study the stimuli-triggered cytotoxicity of micro/nano-materials, and this can be instructive for the construction of stimuli-responsive theranostic materials. This review summarizes recent advances in stimuli-responsive morphology transformation and cytotoxicity of self-assembled micro/nano-materials. Future perspectives for the further design and applications are discussed too.
