The city tree and city flower are investigated in all of the prefecture-level cities. The species 、characteristic and shortcoming of city tree and city flower are summarized . 167 cities have city trees, 209 cities have city trees in the total 292 cities. The selected species are highly recurrence rate, the averaged three cities have selected some plants for city tree and city flowers, all of city plant belong to 48 families, 76 generas, 106 species. Many city residents don t known theirs city tree and city flower, the propaganda of them are not enough, theirs scientific name is lacking, the local name are often used. Those background and reason of existing situation are analyzed. Some advice are put forward for the exploitation of city tree and city flower.
