SOPC is a flexible and efficient solution for SOC. In this paper, how to design the GBPS wireless communication system MAC layer hardware platform using Xilinx SOPC tools is expounded. The paper also analyzes the architecture of PowerPc 440 embedded module which plays a key role in the system. The parameters for every IP core the system used and the detailed design method in EDK environment are given. This hardware platform which has been applied and tested for a long time runs steadily in the whole system and can meet the demand of the performance in high speed wireless communication.
