l基准晶是一类高硬弹性材料,其硬弹比(H/E)值为0.059,约为传统Al合金和钢的4-5倍。同时,准晶材料具有优异的弹性应变性能与良好的自锐性,是潜在的优良磨料。本文制备了二十面体准晶Al62Cu25.5Fe12.5粉末,并以其为磨料配制研磨剂;对软金属Al进行表面研磨处理。结果表明,经准晶研磨处理后的纯Al表面平整均匀,粗糙度为Ra=0.306,达到一般精研要求。与传统金刚石磨料不同,由准晶构成的研磨剂可以避免磨料对软金属表明的二次划伤,且表现出对软金属基体表面缺陷的修复能力。

l stable icosahedral quasicrystals (Qcs) show a hardness/Young's modulus ratio (H/E) of ~ 0.059, which is 4~5 times higher than those of inductrial aluminum alloys and steels. Upon defromation, the materials have high elastic energy and selfsharpening and can be used as abrasive. In the pressent work, we use Al62Cu25.5Fe12.5 Qc powders to make grinding paste for the surface polishing of soft metal Al. Our results show that after grinding with Qc polishing paste, the surface roughness of pure Al reached ~ Ra=0.306, which meets the requirements of a general finish lapping processing. It is alos revealed that, apart from the comparable polishing ability to the diamond grinding paste, the new abrasive material delivers self-repairing effects on the sample surface.
