中国科学情报大学的创建与沿革

Purpose/Significance Tracing the history of China Scientific Information University founded in 1958, so as to provide more evidences of the universitys origin. Method/Process By retrieving the archives of some institutions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, interviewing the persons involved, and text and pictures, demonstrating the history of China Scientific Information University, and recording this precious piece of the history of information science education in China. Result/Conclusion China Scientific Information University which was the first to offer information science education in China, was founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, thus the history of Department of Library, Information and Archive Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences(UCAS) can be traced to 1958. From 1958 to the present, after China Scientific Information University, the other two universities,also affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences - University of Science and Technology of China and UCAS, have continued to develop the library and information science education.
