Burst assembling algorithm and impacts on TCP in OBS network
光突发交换技术(OBS)结合了光电路交换技术(OCS)和光分组交换技术(OPS)的优点,避免了它们的缺点,具有很好的发展前景。本文主要阐述了OBS的原理和网络结构。分析了突发组装对TCP产生的延时损伤和报文段关联增益的影响,并且在此基础了提出了自适应组装算法(DAP),使组装时间动态调整和包长预测相结合。通过仿真可以看出DAP改进了网络的性能。
Optical burst switching (OBS) technology has a promising development because of combining the advantages of optical circuit switching(OCS) and optical packet switching(OPS) whose faults have been avoided. The main theory and the network’s architecture of OBS are presented. A novel assembly algorithm is proposed, based on the investigation of two effects of burst assembly on TCP transmission (namely delay penalty and correlation gain). This assembly algorithm perfectly combines linear estimation of burst length and dynamic regulation of assembly period, and simulation results show it can reduce delay penalty and enhance correlation gain, and thus improve TCP transmission over OBS.
