his paper summarizes the effect of heavy metals on plants’ physiology and biochemistry, including photosynthesis, antioxidant mechanism and secondary metabolism, and then describes the effect of heavy metals on plants’ molecular biology including molecular structures and gene changes. This knowledge can help us to understand the plants’ mechanism under heavy metals and can be the basis of ecological phytoremediation.
