基于边缘检测的车牌定位方法
Vehicle License Plate Location Based on Edge Detection Method
在车牌识别中,车牌定位起着十分关键的作用。由于光线的原因,传统的车牌定位技术在夜晚的车牌定位率普遍比白天的定位率低,这直接影响到后面的分割和识别率。针对这个问题,本文提出了一种基于边缘检测的车牌定位方法,首先对图像进行边缘检测,有效的突出车牌区域特征,然后用水平和垂直定位的方法,去除车前栅栏或车灯等干扰,准确的定位出车牌区域。实验表明,该方法不管是白天还是夜晚,都能准确的定位出车牌。
License plate location plays a critical role in the license plate recognition. The rate of location for the traditional technology in the night is generally lower than that in the day, which directly affects the rate of the segmentation and recognition. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a license plate location method of edge-based detection. We first highlight the regional characteristics of the license plate by detecting image edge, and then use the horizontal and vertical locating method to remove the fence or the front of the car headlights and other interference and accurately locate the plate area. Experiments show that the proposed method can accurately locate a license plate whether it’s day or night.
