Research on the relationship of technological diversification and corporate performance has not get a consensus result, the existing literature neglect the selection of various research setting as well as the contingent factors such as absorptive capacity. Focusing on the large enterprises, this paper empirically analyzes the relationship of technology diversification and corporate performance, and also the moderating effect of absorptive capacity using panel data of China's listed companies that belong to seven high R&D investment density industry. The results show that the implication of technological diversification strategy promotes corporate performance, in addition this relationship is strengthened by the increasing absorptive capacity. It indicates that it is important to control and management company's absorptive capacity while implementing technological diversification strategy in order to sever the company best.
