hree dimensional simulations of particles coarsening in the solid-liquid two phase system were investigated using the multiphase-field model. The influence of the volume fraction and coalescence between solid particles on the coarsening rate was studied. The evolution of the interface shape distribution was also analyzed. It is found that the coarsening rate is closely related to the volume fraction. When there is no coalescence between solid particles the coarsening rate constant increases with the volume fraction, and the relationship obtained from simulations is consistent with the existing theory. However, the increasing rate will slow down when the coalescence between solid particles occurs. The simulation results also show that the interface shape distribution is self-similarity when coarsening is in steady stage. But it will take a longer time for the system to reach the steady state with the increasing volume fraction.
