支持智能天线的无线局域网优化MAC协议
Optimal MAC Protocol of WLAN supporting Smart Antennas
本文在充分考虑IEEE 802.11无线局域网特点的基础上,提出支持智能天线的媒体接入控制协议:SADCF+。智能天线包括全向和定向两种工作模式。在发送数据帧前尽可能短的时间内,SADCF+利用全向RTS/CTS握手机制预约信道,引导发送或接收站点发送训练序列。智能天线接收训练序列后计算出与该站点对应的权矢量,形成定向波束,定向收发数据帧。相邻站点用全向网络分配矢量记录收发站点以全向模式占用信道的时间,在收发站点定向通信的时侯复用信道。SADCF+能够有效支持智能天线的应用,实现信道的空分复用,显著提高网络吞吐量。此外,SADCF+可以实现信息的双向传输,即收发双方相互交换数据帧,因此更适合传输面向连接的TCP业务。SADCF+与IEEE802.11协议完全兼容。
Based on the characteristics of IEEE 802.11 WLAN, a medium access control protocol SADCF+ is proposed in this paper to support smart antennas. A smart antenna has omnidirectional and directional operation modes. In SADCF+, before sending any data frame, the station stimulates the corresponding node to transmit a training sequence by means of omnidirectional RTS/CTS handshake mechanism. Based on the training sequence, the directional beam can be formed by the smart antenna. Then the station can transmit and receive data frames in directional mode. Other nodes save the transmission time of the sender and the receiver in omnidirectional mode by using omnidirectional network allocation vectors, and multiplex channel when they transmit in directional mode. SADCF+ can support smart antennas effectively and provide high throughput by multiplexing channel. Moreover, in SADCF+, data frames are transmitted in bi-direction, from senders to receivers and from receivers to senders. Hence, SADCF+ is more suitable than DCF to transmit TCP traffic over WLAN. SADCF+ is compatible with IEEE 802.11.
