Using ethephon to stimulate latex drainage is a technical revolution for natural rubber production in 20th century. However, the mechanism of latex drainage stimulated by ethylene is so far less known, which is becoming a bottleneck of further research. In this work, the differential gene expression of latex of Hevea brasiliensis treated with ethylene was analyzed by digital gene expression profiling (DGE). 56 genes were up-regulated,and 600 genes were down-regulated 1 h after 1% ethephon treatment. In the sample of 3h post treatment, 180 genes were up-regulated,and 867 genes ere down-regulated. The results showed that the gene expression of related biological pathway appeared to raise and lower in ethylene regulation.
