本文介绍了一种智能充电器的工作原理、设计特点和2种充电模式,详细讨论了系统的硬件构成及软件实现方法,并针对通用充电器的工作特点,设计了一种以PIC877单片机为核心、结合MAX846A充电芯片的镍氢和锂电池自适应充电器,该充电器可以在没有确定化学类型的时候不改变硬件结构而通过软件实现自适应充电,并利用了热敏电阻对电池在充电时产生的热量进行监控,防止电池过冲。由于采用了高性能的微控制器及高分辨率的A/D转换电路,保证了充电器具有很高的精度,较好地解决锂离子电池和镍氢/镍镉电池的充电问题。

his paper charge principle, two kinds of charge model and design features of an intelligent charger , the hardware and software implementation methods is discussed in detail.for the characteristics of charger ,this paper provides a adaptive charger base on PIC877 single chip computer as the core, combined with general-purpose charge chip MAX846A, the charger can software adaptively charge for battery when we do not know it’s chemical and need not change the type of hardware structure. It take advantage of the thermal resistance to monitor the heat of battery and prevent the battery overcharge. Because a result of high-performance micro-controllers and high-resolution A / D conversion circuit is used, this charger has a higher degree of accuracy, a better solution for lithium-ion batteries and Ni-MH / Ni-Cd battery
