女性高管特征对企业社会责任表现的影响研究--基于中国制造业上市公司的经验证据

Research on Influence of Female Executives' Characteristics on Corporate Social Responsibility Performance--Evidence from Chinese Listed Companies of Manufacturing Industry

本文以我国2010-2013年沪深两市A股877家制造业上市公司为样本,实证检验了女性高管特征对企业社会责任表现的影响。研究发现,制造业上市公司中女性高管比例与企业社会责任表现之间存在正U型关系。女性高管的平均教育水平、平均年龄、平均任期与企业社会责任表现显著正相关;女性担任董事长/总经理比例与企业社会责任表现无明显相关关系。企业应当发挥女性高管的作用,履行企业社会责任,提升企业形象。

Basing on a sample of 877 A-Share listed companies of manufacturing industry in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2010 to 2013, this paper empirically tests the influence of female executives' characteristics on corporate social responsibility performance. According to the research results, the proportion of female executives in listed companies of manufacturing industry has a positive U relationship with corporate social responsibility performance. There is a significantly positive correlation between female executives' average education level, average age, average term of office and corporate social responsibility performance; the proportion of female chairman/general manager and corporate social responsibility performance is not significantly related. To improve corporate image, companies should develop the role of female executives, fulfill corporate social responsibility.
