随着计算机硬件性能的不断提高,计算机的使用效率普遍降低。这种现象在服务器应用上更加明显,一般的服务器只加载一种服务使用效率在15%左右。在这样的条件下虚拟化技术日益受到重视,成为IT行业的一大热门。本文在基于Xen的虚拟机上运行起来Windows,并且实际地开发一套NDIS虚拟网卡驱动连通虚拟机与外部的实际网络,网络实际传输性能提高将近30%。搭建起畅通的虚拟网络平台再配合上合理定制的虚拟操作系统必将在服务器公用计算领域有所应用。

With the continuous performance improvement of computer hardware,the efficiency of computer utility reduces correspondingly to a large extent nowadays. This phenomenon is much more conspicuous in the server application.for example, the usual server loaded with one kind of service just can get utility efficiency reach to about 15%.So virtual technology will be increasingly attached with much more importance under such circumstance and turn into one hot point in IT industry. The author does some research in the development of network driver and then design and implement the virtual network driver complied with NDIS(Network Device Interface Specification). After success configuration of virtual machine based on Xen to run Windows, it can connect to real network outside successfully by the use of the virtual network driver mentioned above and increases nearly 30% network transmission performance than the network adapter QEMU emulating. It can be sure that expedite network platform with reasonable configuration of virtual operating system can make a significant difference in the domain of public server computation in the upcoming future.
