同卵与异卵双生子糖尿病—肾虚证病证结合比较分析

Objectives: To compare the similarities and differences of both disease and TCM syndrome between monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) twins, and further explore the genetic characteristics of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) with kidney deficiency syndrome. Methods: Firstly, three pairs of twins were screened from T2DM pedigrees through clinical investigation and laboratory tests (fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance tests and glycosylated hemoglobin). Secondly, the zygosity of each pair of twins was determined through the method of twin’s phenotype similarity comparison. Finally, the kidney deficiency syndrome of 3 pairs of twins was decided by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) experts and questionnaire scores. Results: Among three pairs of twins, the two pairs are MZ and one pair is DZ. Two pairs of MZ twins suffered with both T2DM and kidney deficiency syndrome. One of DZ twins is diagnosed with T2DM and kidney deficiency syndrome and the other is diagnosed with no kidney deficiency syndrome but impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Conclusion: The differentiated results of 3 pairs of twins suggested that kidney deficiency syndrome was liable to be accompanied with T2DM. There was consistency of suffering T2DM and kidney deficiency syndrome between MZ twins although the differences in severity of illness were obvious.
