his paper observed the effect of acupoint application in relief of abdominal pain and distension in a patient with pancreatic cancer, and summarized related nursing measures. Under the guidance of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) nursing by syndrome differentiation, Chinese herbal medicine granules external application at Shenque acupoint (CV 8) was performed. Comprehensive interventions including dietary nursing, emotional care and life support care were carried out during the treatment. Guided by the TCM meridian theory, the acupoint application is effective way of external therapy in treating the internal illness by stimulating the relevant acupoints.
