Nano-technology was widely used in various fields, such as material science, medicine and agricultural production et al. Recent research shows that nanomaterials have complex effects on plants. In this study, we report that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) do not affect the germination rate of maize and rice, but promote growth of the rice seedlings and affect root hair development of maize. CNTs inhibit H4K20me3 modification in the root tissue of maize.
