岩石磁学性质的研究,对鉴别岩石的载磁矿物种类,为室内样品的退磁实验和磁成分的分离提供依据,同时也是判断岩石获得的磁化是否为原生的重要途径,因而岩石磁学的研究是古地磁年代学的基础。本文对六盘山山前新近系不同岩性岩石进行了较详细的岩石磁学的研究,取得了较好的测量结果,得出该地层的沉积岩中的磁性矿物主要是赤铁矿、磁赤铁矿、磁铁矿和针铁矿。将为该剖面古地磁年代地层的确定打下基础。

he study of the characteristics of rock magnetism provides bases for identifying the categories of magnetic minerals in the rocks, demagnetization experiments and separating magnetic components, especially can judge whether magnetization of the rock is original or not. Therefore the study of the characteristics of rock magnetism is a basis of paleomagnetic chronology. In this paper, we research the rock magnetic properties of samples from the upper tertiary Cenozoic Gansu group strata in the Liupan Shan foreland basin, and gain some better results. It revealed that magnetic minerals in the strata of Lanpan Shan area depositing in Neocene are chiefly composed of hematite, maghemite, magnetite and goethite. This will be a solid foundation of the determining the paleomagnetic chronological layers for this section.
