By adopting four parallel-coupling microring resonators as basic routing elements, device architecture and design scheme of a kind of four-port optical router are proposed, which can passively route three channel wavelengths. First, structural parameters of the routing element are optimized for single-mode transmission, low optical loss and phase-match between microring waveguide and channel waveguide. Then, detailed routing topology of the router is presented, and characteristic parameters of the four-port optical router including spectrum characteristic, insertion loss, and crosstalk are calculated in detail. Under the selected three channel wavelengths, the insertion losses along all routing paths are within 0.02~0.6 dB, and the crosstalk is less than -23 dB.
