he application of high performance simulated moving bed (HP-SMB) chromatography technology is attractive. Based on the recent development in HP-SMB chromatography technology, the new operating modes of it are discussed in detailed, including gradient SMB, supercritical fluid SMB, VariCol process, PowerFeed process and ModiCon process. The SMB reactor and the application of HP-SMB chromatography technology in fine chemicals and in pharmaceuticals are introduced. And the developing prospects of the HP-SMB chromatography technology are explored.
