利用单端电气量的VSC-HVDC输电线路保护新原理
New Protection Principle for VSC-HVDC Transmis-sion Lines based on Single-End Electrical Quantity
VSC-HVDC(voltage source converter HVDC)控制系统复杂,故障承受能力差,研究适用于VSC-HVDC系统的高性能保护十分必要。由于VSC-HVDC直流输电系统的特殊结构,即线路两侧存在大电容,系统正常运行时,电容内储存了大量能量。线路外发生故障时,故障点电压降低,电容对外放电,放电电流远大于直流线路对故障点的注入电流,流入对侧换流器的电流方向与电容放电方向相同;线路内部发生故障时,电容放电电流中存在高频信号,使得流入对侧换流器的电流方向发生变化。利用此特点,提出一种仅利用单端电气量的VSC-HVDC输电线路保护新原理。本原理能够实现区内、外故障的判别,对采样频率要求不高,动作速度快,易于整定。利用PSCAD进行故障分析,大量仿真结果表明,该原理能可靠区分直流输电线路的区内、外故障。
VSC-HVDC (voltage source converter HVDC) control system is very complex and has poor fault tolerance ability. So researches on high-performance protection which is suitable for VSC-HVDC system is necessary. Because of the special structure of VSC-HVDC system, namely the existence of a large capacitor on both sides of the line, the capacitors store a lot of energy during normal operation. When a fault occurs outside the lines, voltage decreases in fault position and the capacitor discharges outside. The discharge current is much larger than the DC line's injection current. The current which flows into the opposite inverter and the capacitor's discharge current have the same direction; when the fault occurs inside the line, there are high-frequency signals in the capacitor discharge current. It makes the current which flows into the opposite inverter change direction. With this feature, this paper proposed a new protection principle for VSC-HVDC transmission lines based on single-end electrical quantity. Using the proposed protective principle, whether the fault is inside or outside the protection zone can be effectively recognized and there is no strict requirement on sampling frequency. A large number of simulation results show that the proposed protection can reliably distinguish between inside fault and outside fault.
