中间件技术是实现分布式系统灵活和协调运作的一组软件技术。它是位于操作系统之上和应用软件之下的一个软件层，负责处理不兼容的操作系统或文件结构, 调节客户机与服务器或服务器与服务器之间的通信。在分布式系统中，提供了公共的编程机制。
Middleware is a class of software technologies designed to help manage the complexity and heterogeneity inherent in distributed systems. It is defined as a layer of software above the operating system but below the application program that provides a common programming abstraction across a distributed system. As an efficient way, Message-oriented Middleware (MOM) can solve the distributed network communication problems.
