振荡系数的Maxwell系统的透射特征值问题

内部透射特征值问题起源于入射波关于非均匀介质的散射问题。这是一类椭圆型方程组带有边界耦合条件的非标准的特征值问题。本文研究Maxwel方程组的带有小周期振荡系数的透射特征值问题,物理上对应于电磁波在微周期结构的介质中的传播的刻画。首先建立了该类数学问题对应的电磁场散射的物理模型,阐明了透射特征值实际上是一类入射波的特殊频率,该频率的入射波在给定的介质中不产生散射波和透射波。 进而利用均匀化方法和双尺度收敛理论,给出了实特征值的估计,证明了该系统的特征值分布收敛于对应的均匀化介质的特征值分布。此理论结果为带有振荡特性的Maxwell系统的特征值的近似计算提供了一条新的有效途径。
he interior transmission eigenvalue problems (ITEPs) came originally from the scattering problems of incident waves for inhomogeneous media, which are the eigenvalue problems for elliptic equations with homogeneous coupling boundary conditions. Consider the ITEPs for Maxwell's equations of oscillatory refraction index with small period. Physically such kinds of problems govern the electromagnetic wave scattering in the media with inhomogeneous microstructure. We firstly explain the physical backgrounds for such kinds of nonstandard problems, showing that the eigenvalues are in fact the wave frequencies of incident waves for which the scattered waves vanish. Then by applying the homogenization process, we give the bounds on the transmission eigenvalues, prove that the eigenpairs for microstructure media converge to those of the homogenized system as the oscillating period goes to zero. The theoretical results provide a possible way to the efficient computations of the transmission eigenvalues of the Maxwell system with oscillating coefficient.
