性别角色中位数分类法的有效性研究

he uncertainty of gender roles theory leads to different scoring methods. Over the past 30 years, Spence median-split method has been generally accepted. Although Bem and Spence had already pointed out the defects of the method, subsequent researchers did not carry out a thorough examination of its validity. Through theoretical analysis, this study proves that the classification method has predicted the distribution of gender roles, and further points out that the distribution reflects the correlation between the Masculinity scale and the Femininity scale actually. Thus the method is lack of sensitivity, reliability and comparability. The researches have become \\\\\\\"reflection\\\\\\\" of the method – an artifact. Finally, the article suggests using male and female sub-scales scores instead of median-split and establishing the normal of sub-scales.
