Novel heterogeneous catalyst was prepared by covalently anchoring of Cu(II) Schiff complex onto amine functionalized KIT-6. Then the hybrid material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR) spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Nitrogen adsorption-desorption, etc. The characterization results indicated that the structural integrity of the mesoporous hosts after the stepwise grafting procedure. The catalyst displayed excellent catalytic performance in epoxidation of styrene using tert-BuooH as oxidant. The recycling experiment results suggested that the catalyst could be reused three times with insignificant loss of catalytic activity.
