Effect of Ag and Ti underlayers on the magnetic properties of the Fe/Pt multilayer film

利用磁控溅射的方法,在热玻璃基片上制备了以Ag或Ti为底层的[Fe/Pt]n多层膜,然后经不同温度真空热处理,得到L10有序结构的FePt薄膜(L10-FePt)。实验结果表明:以Ag或Ti做底层,并利用[Fe/Pt]n多层膜结构制备FePt薄膜,可以促进L10-FePt薄膜有序化过程,使其有序化温度由500 降低到350℃。以Ag和Ti为底层的[Fe/Pt]n多层膜,经400℃退火20 min后,平行膜面的矫顽力分别达到597 kA/m和645 kA/m,剩磁比分别为0.81和0.94,适合于L10-FePt薄膜用于未来超高密度磁记录介质。以Ag为底层的[Fe/Pt]n多层膜,退火后其平行膜面矫顽力随退火温度的升高而增大;以Ti为底层的[Fe/Pt]n多层膜,退火后其平行膜面矫顽力先随退火温度的升高而增大,在高于500℃退火时,矫顽力下降。

he Fe/Pt multilayer films with an Ag or Ti underlayer were deposited on the heated glass substrates by magnetron sputtering, and the FePt films with L10 ordering phase (L10-FePt) were obtained after the as-deposited samples were subjected to vacuum annealing at various temperatures. Results demonstrate that the FePt films with Fe/Pt multilayer structure and an Ag or Ti underlayer can effectively prompt the ordering process and reduce the ordering temperature of L10-FePt films from 500℃ to 350℃. After annealed at 400℃ for 20 min, the in-plane coercivity HC of Ag / [Fe/Pt]13 and Ti / [Fe/Pt]13 films can be as high as 597 kA/m and 645 kA/m respectively, and the ratio of remance magnetization to saturation magnetization can reach 0.81 and 0.94, which are implied to be suitable for the future magnetic recording media with ultrahigh density.
